Ingredients

1 lb ground chicken

3 tablespoons hoisin sauce

2 tablespoons soy sauce

1 tablespoon rice vinegar

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated

1 tablespoon sesame oil

1 tablespoon vegetable oil

1 red bell pepper, finely diced

1 carrot, finely grated

2 green onions, thinly sliced

1 head of butter lettuce or romaine lettuce, leaves separated

Sesame seeds, for garnish

Fresh cilantro leaves, for garnish

Lime wedges, for serving

Instructions

Prepare the Sauce: In a small bowl, mix together the hoisin sauce, soy sauce, rice vinegar, minced garlic, and grated ginger. Set aside.

Cook the Chicken: In a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Add the ground chicken and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula, about 5-6 minutes.

Add Vegetables: Stir in the diced red bell pepper, grated carrot, and sesame oil. Cook for another 2-3 minutes until the vegetables are soft and the chicken is fully cooked.

Combine with Sauce: Pour the hoisin sauce mixture over the chicken and vegetable mixture. Stir well to coat everything evenly. Let it cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken slightly.

Assemble Lettuce Cups: Take a lettuce leaf and spoon a generous amount of the sticky garlic hoisin chicken mixture into the center.

Garnish: Top with sliced green onions, sesame seeds, and fresh cilantro leaves.

Serve: Serve the lettuce cups with lime wedges on the side for squeezing on top for added freshness.
