Instructions

Make the Taco Sauce: In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine the tomato sauce, apple cider vinegar, chili powder, garlic powder, onion powder, sugar, salt, and pepper. Stir well and let it simmer for about 10 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld. Adjust seasoning to taste and set aside.

Cook the Beef: In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté for 2-3 minutes until translucent. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.

Brown the Beef: Add the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it up with a wooden spoon. Cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes.

Season the Beef: Drain excess fat if necessary. Stir in the chili powder, cumin, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Pour in the beef broth to add moisture and flavor. Let it simmer for 5 minutes, allowing the liquid to reduce slightly.

Warm the Tortillas: While the beef simmers, warm the tortillas in a dry skillet over medium heat for about 30 seconds on each side or until pliable.

Assemble the Tacos: Place a generous scoop of the beef filling on each tortilla. Top with shredded lettuce, chopped tomatoes, jalapeños, and cheese. Drizzle with homemade taco sauce.

Garnish and Serve: Finish with a sprinkle of fresh cilantro and a squeeze of lime juice. Serve immediately with lime wedges on the side.
