Quick Beef and Vegetable Stir-Fry

1 lb (450g) beef sirloin, thinly sliced

2 cups broccoli florets

1 cup bell peppers (red and yellow), sliced

1 cup snap peas

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 inch ginger, grated

3 tablespoons soy sauce

2 tablespoons oyster sauce

1 tablespoon cornstarch

2 tablespoons vegetable oil

1 tablespoon sesame oil

1 teaspoon sugar

Salt and pepper to taste

Cooked rice or noodles, for serving

Sesame seeds and green onions for garnish (optional)

Instructions
 

Marinate the Beef: In a bowl, combine the sliced beef, half of the soy sauce, cornstarch, ginger, sugar, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Mix well and let marinate for about 10-15 minutes while you prepare the vegetables.

    Prepare the Vegetables: Wash and chop the broccoli florets, bell peppers, and snap peas. Set aside.

      Heat the Pan: In a large wok or frying pan, heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil over high heat until shimmering.

        Stir-Fry the Beef: Add the marinated beef to the pan in a single layer. Stir-fry for about 2-3 minutes until browned and just cooked through. Remove the beef from the pan and set aside.

          Cook the Vegetables: In the same pan, add the remaining vegetable oil. Add the minced garlic and stir-fry for about 30 seconds until fragrant. Then add the broccoli, bell peppers, and snap peas. Stir-fry for 4-5 minutes until the vegetables are bright and tender-crisp.

            Combine and Sauce: Return the cooked beef to the pan. Pour in the remaining soy sauce, oyster sauce, and sesame oil. Toss everything together and stir-fry for another 1-2 minutes until the sauce is well coated and heated through.

              Serve: Remove from heat and serve immediately over cooked rice or noodles. Garnish with sesame seeds and sliced green onions if desired.
