1 ½ cups all-purpose flour

1 tsp baking powder

½ tsp baking soda

¼ tsp salt

½ cup unsalted butter, softened

1 cup granulated sugar

2 large eggs

1 tsp vanilla extract

½ cup sour cream

1 large ripe pear, peeled and diced

½ cup toasted hazelnuts, roughly chopped

1 tsp ground cinnamon

1 tbsp brown sugar (for topping)

Powdered sugar (for dusting)

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan or line it with parchment paper for easier removal.

    Mix Dry Ingredients: In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.

      Cream Butter and Sugar: In a large mixing bowl, cream the softened butter and granulated sugar together until light and fluffy, about 3-4 minutes.

        Add Eggs and Vanilla: Beat in the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract. Mix until combined.

          Incorporate Sour Cream: Gently fold in the sour cream until the batter is smooth.

            Combine Mixtures: Gradually add the dry ingredient mixture into the wet mixture, stirring until just combined – be careful not to overmix.

              Fold in Pears and Hazelnuts: Gently fold in the diced pear and chopped hazelnuts, ensuring they are evenly distributed throughout the batter.
