Ingredients

1 large flatbread or pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)

2 ripe pears, thinly sliced

1 cup crumbled blue cheese

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

1/4 cup walnuts, toasted and roughly chopped

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 tablespoon balsamic glaze (plus more for drizzling)

1 tablespoon fresh rosemary, chopped (or 1 teaspoon dried rosemary)

Salt and pepper, to taste

Optional: arugula for garnish

Instructions

Preheat the Oven:

Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C). If using a pizza stone, place it in the oven as it preheats.

      Prepare the Flatbread:

If using pizza dough, roll it out on a lightly floured surface into your desired shape and thickness. Transfer it to a baking sheet or a hot pizza stone.

          Add Olive Oil:

Brush the surface of the flatbread or pizza dough with the olive oil, ensuring an even coating to promote a crispy crust.

              Layer the Cheese:

Sprinkle half of the shredded mozzarella cheese evenly over the flatbread, creating a base layer.

                  Arrange the Pears:

Evenly distribute the thinly sliced pears on top of the mozzarella layer, making sure to cover the surface without overlapping too much.

                      Add Blue Cheese:

Crumble the blue cheese over the pears, followed by the remaining mozzarella cheese. This combination will provide a rich flavor and a gooey texture.

                          Season and Garnish:

Sprinkle the toasted walnuts and chopped rosemary evenly over the cheese. Season the flatbread with salt and pepper to taste.

                              Bakery Bliss:

Place the flatbread in the oven (on the pizza stone, if using) and bake for about 10-12 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and the edges are golden brown.

                                  Finishing Touch:

Once baked, remove the flatbread from the oven and drizzle with balsamic glaze for a touch of sweetness and visual appeal.

                                      Serve:

If desired, garnish with fresh arugula for a peppery contrast and an extra layer of flavor. Slice and enjoy your delightful Pear & Blue Cheese Flatbread warm!
