Ingredients

2 cups elbow macaroni

4 cups sharp cheddar cheese, shredded

1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

3 cups milk

1/4 cup unsalted butter

1/4 cup all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1/2 teaspoon paprika

Salt and pepper to taste

1 cup breadcrumbs

1 tablespoon olive oil

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish with non-stick spray or butter.

Cook the macaroni according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

      Make the cheese sauce:

        - In a large saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.

          - Once melted, whisk in the flour and cook for about 1 minute until bubbly.

            - Gradually pour in the milk while whisking constantly to prevent lumps. Continue to whisk until the mixture thickens and comes to a gentle simmer.

              Flavor the sauce:

                - Stir in the garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.

                  - Add the sharp cheddar cheese, mozzarella cheese, and half of the Parmesan cheese. Stir until fully melted and creamy.

                    Combine macaroni and cheese sauce:

                      - In a large bowl, combine the cooked macaroni and cheese sauce. Mix well to ensure all the pasta is coated.

Transfer to baking dish: Pour the macaroni and cheese mixture into the greased baking dish. Spread it out evenly.

                          Prepare the topping:

                            - In a small bowl, mix the breadcrumbs with the remaining Parmesan cheese and olive oil until the breadcrumbs are coated.

Top it off: Sprinkle the breadcrumb mixture evenly over the macaroni and cheese.

Bake the casserole: Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the casserole is bubbly.

Garnish and serve: Let the casserole cool for a few minutes before serving. Garnish with chopped parsley for a fresh touch.
