Ingredients

1 pound ground turkey

1/2 cup breadcrumbs (whole wheat or gluten-free)

1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 large egg

2 cloves garlic, minced

1/4 cup fresh parsley, finely chopped

1 teaspoon dried oregano

1 teaspoon dried basil

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

1/4 cup milk (or almond milk for dairy-free)

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 cup marinara sauce (for serving)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.

Mix the Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground turkey, breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, egg, minced garlic, parsley, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. Pour in the milk and mix gently with your hands or a spatula until just combined. Avoid over-mixing as this can make the meatballs tough.

Form the Meatballs: Scoop out about 2 tablespoons of the mixture and roll it into a ball, placing it onto the prepared baking sheet. Repeat until all the mixture is used, spacing the meatballs about an inch apart. If the mixture is too sticky, dampen your hands slightly with water for easier handling.

Drizzle with Olive Oil: Lightly drizzle the meatballs with olive oil to promote browning during roasting.

Roast the Meatballs: Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the meatballs are golden brown and cooked through (the internal temperature should reach 165°F/75°C).

Serve: While the meatballs are baking, warm the marinara sauce in a small saucepan over medium heat. Serve the meatballs on a platter and drizzle with marinara sauce or place them directly into the sauce for a hearty dish. Garnish with additional parsley if desired.
