Creating the perfect Spicy Green Chili Turkey Biscuit Bites begins with properly mixing the wet ingredients. The wet mixture serves as the foundation for the dough, providing moisture and flavor to the overall recipe. For this dish, it’s essential to fully combine your wet ingredients—typically buttermilk, melted butter, and an egg—until they form a cohesive mixture. This ensures that the fat from the butter is evenly distributed, which contributes to the flakiness of the biscuits once baked.

Ingredients

1 lb ground turkey

1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese

1/2 cup diced green chilies (fresh or canned)

1 cup all-purpose flour

1 tbsp baking powder

1/2 tsp salt

1/4 tsp black pepper

1/2 cup milk

1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted

1 tsp garlic powder

1 tsp onion powder

1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro (optional, for garnish)

Sour cream or Greek yogurt, for serving

Instructions

Preheat Your Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Prepare the Biscuit Dough: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.

Mix Wet Ingredients: In another bowl, combine the milk and melted butter. Stir until well blended.

Combine Mixtures: Gradually pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients, stirring until just combined. Be careful not to overmix; lumps are okay.

Fold in Main Ingredients: Gently fold in the ground turkey, shredded cheddar cheese, and diced green chilies until evenly distributed within the dough.

Shape the Bites: Using a tablespoon, scoop the mixture and drop it onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart. You should have about 12-15 bites.

Bake: Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 18-20 minutes, or until the biscuit bites are golden brown on top and thoroughly cooked inside.

Garnish and Serve: Once baked, remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes. If desired, garnish with chopped fresh cilantro. Serve warm with sour cream or Greek yogurt on the side.
