Ingredients

8 oz linguine pasta

1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined

4 tablespoons unsalted butter

4 cloves garlic, minced

1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)

1/2 cup dry white wine (or chicken broth)

1 lemon, juiced and zested

1/2 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese

2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped

Salt and pepper to taste

Lemon wedges for serving

Instructions

Cook the Linguine: Fill a large pot with water, add a generous pinch of salt, and bring to a boil. Add the linguine and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water and then drain the rest.

Sauté the Shrimp: In a large skillet, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium-high heat. Once melted, add the shrimp. Season with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes. Sauté the shrimp until they turn pink and are fully cooked, about 2-3 minutes per side. Remove the shrimp and set aside.

Make the Garlic Butter Sauce: In the same skillet, add the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter. Once melted, add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant. Be careful not to burn the garlic.

Deglaze the Pan: Pour in the white wine (or chicken broth) and lemon juice. Scrape the bottom of the skillet to release any browned bits. Let it simmer for 2-3 minutes until the liquid reduces slightly.

Combine Everything: Add the cooked linguine to the skillet along with the shrimp. Toss to combine, adding reserved pasta water a little at a time until you reach your desired sauce consistency.

Finish the Dish: Stir in the lemon zest, chopped parsley, and grated Parmesan cheese. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.

Serve: Plate the linguine topped with garlic shrimp. Garnish with extra parsley, Parmesan cheese, and lemon wedges on the side for squeezing.
