Ingredients

2 ripe bananas

1 cup chocolate chip cookie dough (store-bought or homemade)

1/2 cup dark chocolate chips

1 tbsp coconut oil (for melting)

Pinch of sea salt

Optional toppings: chopped nuts, sprinkles, shredded coconut

Instructions

Prepare the Bananas: Peel the ripe bananas and slice them into 1/4-inch thick coins. Set aside on a lined baking sheet.

Scoop the Cookie Dough: Using a small cookie scoop or spoon, take about a teaspoon of cookie dough and place it on top of each banana slice. Gently flatten the dough slightly to make a small disc shape.

Freeze the Banana Coins: Once all the banana slices are topped with cookie dough, transfer the baking sheet to the freezer. Freeze for about 1-2 hours until the banana coins are firm.

Melt the Chocolate: While the coins are freezing, melt the dark chocolate chips and coconut oil together. You can do this in a microwave-safe bowl, microwaving in 30-second increments, stirring in between, until fully melted and smooth.

Coat the Banana Coins: Once frozen, remove the banana coins from the freezer. Dip each coin in the melted chocolate mixture, ensuring they are completely covered. Use a fork to lift them out and allow any excess chocolate to drip off.

Add Toppings: While the chocolate is still wet, sprinkle a pinch of sea salt and any optional toppings (nuts, sprinkles, or shredded coconut) on top of the coins.

Final Freeze: Place the coated banana coins back on the baking sheet and return them to the freezer for an additional 30 minutes to set.

Serve and Enjoy: Once the chocolate is hardened, remove the banana coins from the freezer and serve immediately, or store them in an airtight container in the freezer for a sweet treat anytime!
