Ingredients

1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined

1 bunch asparagus, trimmed and cut into 2-inch pieces

4 tablespoons olive oil, divided

4 cloves garlic, minced

Zest and juice of 1 large lemon

1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)

Salt and black pepper, to taste

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Lemon wedges (for serving)

Instructions

Prepare the Asparagus: In a large skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat. Add the asparagus and sauté for about 3-4 minutes until they turn bright green and are tender-crisp. Season with salt and pepper. Remove the asparagus from the skillet and set aside.

Cook the Shrimp: In the same skillet, add the remaining 2 tablespoons of olive oil. Add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes, sautéing until the garlic is fragrant (about 30 seconds, being careful not to burn it).

Add the Shrimp: Place the shrimp in the skillet in a single layer. Cook for 2-3 minutes on one side until they start to turn pink. Flip the shrimp, then add the lemon zest and juice. Cook for another 2-3 minutes, or until the shrimp are fully cooked and opaque.

Combine: Return the sautéed asparagus to the skillet, tossing everything together carefully to combine the flavors and heat through for another minute.

Serve: Remove from heat, taste, and adjust seasoning if necessary. Sprinkle with fresh parsley. Serve immediately with lemon wedges on the side.
