Ingredients

8 oz elbow macaroni

2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

3 cups milk

1/4 cup unsalted butter

1/4 cup all-purpose flour

1 tsp garlic powder

1 tsp onion powder

1/2 tsp paprika

1/2 tsp salt

1/4 tsp black pepper

1/2 cup breadcrumbs (optional for topping)

2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley (for garnish, optional)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

Cook the Pasta: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the elbow macaroni and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

      Make the Cheese Sauce:

        - In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.

          - Stir in the flour and whisk for about 1-2 minutes until lightly golden (this is called a roux).

            - Gradually pour in the milk while whisking continuously to prevent lumps.

              - Continue to cook, stirring frequently, until the mixture thickens and starts to bubble, about 5-7 minutes.

                - Reduce the heat, then add the garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper.

                  - Remove from heat and mix in the shredded cheddar and mozzarella cheeses until melted and smooth.

Combine Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the cooked macaroni and cheese sauce, stirring until all pasta is evenly coated.

Transfer to Baking Dish: Pour the macaroni and cheese mixture into a greased 9x13 inch baking dish.

Add Topping (Optional): If using, sprinkle breadcrumbs evenly over the top for a crispy finish.

Bake: Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the top is golden and bubbly.

Garnish and Serve: Remove from the oven, let it cool for a few minutes, and garnish with chopped parsley if desired. Serve warm and enjoy your creamy dreamy baked mac and cheese!
