Ingredients

1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined

3 tablespoons olive oil

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)

Zest of 1 lemon

Juice of 1 lemon

Salt and pepper, to taste

1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped

Lemon wedges, for serving

Cooked rice or pasta, for serving (optional)

Instructions

Prep the Shrimp: In a bowl, season the shrimp with salt, pepper, and lemon zest. Set aside for a few minutes to marinate.

Heat the Pan: In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat.

Sauté Garlic: Once the oil is hot, add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes. Sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant, being careful not to burn the garlic.

Cook the Shrimp: Add the seasoned shrimp to the skillet in a single layer. Cook for 2-3 minutes on one side until they start to turn pink.

Flip and Flavor: Flip the shrimp and add the lemon juice to the pan. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the shrimp are fully cooked and opaque.

Finish with Herbs: Remove from heat and stir in the chopped parsley, adjusting seasoning with more salt and pepper if needed.

Serve: Plate the shrimp with lemon wedges on the side, over rice or pasta if desired, and garnish with extra parsley.
